For those who work selling things that are seasonal like siding for a house, you will ant to consider how you can improve your sales in the slower months. You will find that selling your products in the off season can be very difficult, but you may need to change the way that you approach the customers and the customers that you approach. This means you will find that when it comes to challenging times like these you need to remain above it. So how to you keep yourself and your sales above the drowning, hard times?

First, you have to consider the way that you will pitch to your customers. Like instead of asking them to just buy siding, tell them that siding the house will be a large spring project that will take months to plan and prepare for. They could purchase the siding now, have it delivered later, and then they can spend the next couple of months planning the timing, as well as, who will hang the siding and what can be done to make this huge project seem like nothing to plan.

You will also want to change the way you approach for the sales. Basically, you do not want to just approach consumers, but you will also want to approach dealers. Tell your dealers that once the season comes in for the product, they will have a lot of demand. To feed the demand of the market they will need plenty of supplies. Dealers can be a great way to unload a lot of product on the off market. You will find that there are a lot of people who demand extra supplies for the off season so that they can get prepared, but also dealers have the room to buy and store too. Dealers will help you make a lot of money.

Thirdly, you will want to really press on. The more people who say no, the more aggressive about your sales you will have to be. Grab a food book and make a phone call to everyone in a particular area. When you do a cold calling list like this, you will find that there will be a lot of people interested in your products and interest in yourself. You will want to learn how to make cold calls successful for you, but keep in mind that you are not selling yourself over the phone, but you are selling the company and the product and you cannot rely on them liking you personally for the deal. Cold calls makes things a lot harder, but you will need to do them if you ever plan on making any deals.

Not only will you want to consider making some cold calls to get the sales, but you will also want to consider the people who live in a particular area. You need to find out where the demand is and then take your products to these people. This may mean that you will want to ask to expand your selling area on the off seasons so that you can still keep your commissions up.

The key to making a lot of sales is not allowing the customer to think that you are desperate for a sale. Do not make them think that you need the commission for you to live on. You will want to make sure that you keep your sales up throughout the year so that you never have to worry about things like your commission numbers. You will find some tricks of the trade as you become more comfortable with the selling job, however, you need to keep things like your customer and your target market in consideration at all times.
