It's amazing how much information is circulating around the
Internet on how to conduct an article marketing campaign.
Unfortunately most of these methods focus purely on dumping
large amounts of recycled, re-worded and junk content on
various article directories all over cyberspace, while this
method may garner a few links it certainly falls short of
delivering quality content to readers in your target
market... readers that will be warmed up to your offer and

Unlike the popular methods of the day my approach is quite
the opposite but the results speak for themselves as I
consistently have traffic coming in from articles written
months prior. Here are a few tools from my article
marketing toolbox to incorporate when ramping up your
article marketing efforts.

First don't get overzealous when it comes to writing
articles. For each market you are working in start out slow
and submit one or two articles per week maximum! Legitimate
publishers aren't going to want more nor can they publish
more than one article per week or even per month based on
the frequency of their ezine or newsletter publication. The
good news is at this slower rate you shouldn't burned out
cranking one five hundred word article each week helping to
keep the creative juices flowing.

You need to mix it up every now and again so your articles
don't get stale! Stop relying completely on the major
article distribution services, especially the ones that
just post your articles to directories. You need to get
your articles out to new sites and by mixing up your
article distribution and building your own list of editors
and publications you will reach an even wider audience by
getting your articles in front of readers that would not
have otherwise seen them. So fire up your favorite search
engine and start searching for new publishers for
submission.

Ditch the garbage content that has been used more times
than Seattle's slough. Once an article has been rehashed
and told over and over again it gets old, dull and
lifeless. Worse yet people become hardened to the message
and the lack of passion for the topic fails to shine
through to the reader. This is exactly what happens when
using content like private label rights; it's cheap, poor
quality, sold to everyone and makes its way onto low grade
article directories all over the 'net. The simple truth is
that real editors can see right through the low quality
garbage content and are not going to publish it.

Focus on high quality content and continuing to grow your
list of publications, which is really all you need to kick
start an article marketing campaign into high gear. If you
follow these simple guidelines you are on your way to
building an article marketing empire resulting in great
quality traffic and more sales for years to come.

I hope you are passionate about what you do. If you aren't

bed (and knows he needs a decent night's sleep), he simply
puts a notebook on the nightstand next to him. Then he
tries to get some rest.

As all of those thoughts and ideas rush through his head,
he simply turns over, turns on the light, and writes them
down. That's it. So why is this helpful?

My friend, who has studied this matter closely, points to
2 reasons why this exercise helps to put your mind (and
body) at rest. First, as a busy business person, bedtime
is probably the first time (since getting OUT of bed in the
morning) that you've had any peace and quiet the whole day!

That is, you aren't on the phone, you aren't writing copy,
and you aren't tweaking your website(s). So your
subconscious mind takes this time to relax... and push a
torrent of ideas into your head. And then you get excited
and can't sleep.

Second, these ideas aren't just any ideas. They are known
as "open loops" in Neuro Linguistic Programming. Basically
they are incomplete ideas because they are not immediately
actionable. You are just lying in bed thinking about all
the ideas you COULD be implementing. Is it any wonder you
can't sleep?

So when you use the notebook to write your incomplete ideas
down you are actually closing that open loop in a concrete
fashion. You are telling your subconscious mind, "Hey, we
got it on paper. Don't worry. We can take care of it in the
morning. You can rest, okay?"

Sooner or later, your mind will begin to calm down, and
you will be able to get that deep, restful sleep you
deserve. So you can implement all those great ideas in the
morning!

The great, vast information source that is the internet. It'’s man’s most significant technological breakthrough. In a world where there are more than a billion sites, how could you make yours stand out?

Well, I'd start with increasing traffic. Traffic is important for any website to prosper, especially of it's a commercial one.

2. Using Crawlers

Crawler-based search engines like Yahoo, Google and Ask Jeeves are the next easiest way to increase traffic. Crawlers work by picking up every website or page that matches a query. It crawls on individual pages, big websites and directories. Google in particular has a feature wherein you can directly add your site's URL to its directory for easy recovery.

However, this method doesn't guarantee that your site will be visited by hoards of visitors. Oh no. That will be determined by your page's ranking. Page rank is a measure of how relevant your website is. It's like a measure of how much support your site gets. If you get a lot of back links to your site, then this does much to increase its page rank.

3. High quality content, increase in keywords and add a sitemap

A lot of webmasters use the content, keywords and sitemap to increase their traffic. How you ask?

a. Content

As we've said, page ranking is how relevant your site it. It doesn't matter if you have a hundred or so pages but they contain nothing but spam. This is terribly irritating, especially to Google, who might even ban you from their listings.

High quality content however, is the best way to go about it. Even if you've got only 5 or so pages, but have relevant and well written articles, people are sure to come back and visit.

b. Keywords

For example, your site is covering a topic like, Superman. Of course the regular person looking for a page on Superman will type "superman" on his query box.

However, some search for more specific terms like "super man" or "clark kent" or "lois and clark". If you have pages that have these keywords, there are better chances for your site to be found. The more specific the keyword, the better since it limits the number of the competition.

c. Sitemap

A sitemap is useful for any website since it increases the number of internal links and pages that you have, therefore increasing the chances that a crawler will pick it up.

It's also a big help to people who're looking for a particular page but wouldn't want to bother browsing through the whole website.

4. Exchange links with other sites

Exchanging links with other websites will be a good way to foster camaraderie and friendship. It'll increase traffic too, since most people browse through the links page of websites, especially on fan sites.

However, it wouldn't be good to ask for an exchange link for free or just out of the blue. Before a similar site can do an exchange with you, you must have been offering them something in return, like free content or downloads.

5. Article marketing

Submitting your articles to online publications is a good way to increase traffic too. This is a bit harder than the other methods, since the magazine need to approve your article first.

However, one approved, not only do you get to publish your work, you are also given a link back to your site. This method calls for quality not quantity so please do your best.

6. Submitting to directories

There are free and open directories like imegamall.com and searchsight.com. You can submit your site to them and it may increase traffic to your site.

This method is fast and easy but not so reliable either. It might take weeks or months before your site can be listed or maybe not at all. So it's best to try this along with the other methods for a greater chance of success.
